ALTERECO ECO-QUENTIN

The boilers are designed for water central heating installations where the water temperature at the outlet does not exceed 95 ° C. The device can work in both gravity and forced water circulation installations. The boiler can only operate in open system installations. The steel structure allows for very efficient combustion of saw chips. In the combustion chamber there is a burner with an automatic fuel igniter and a ceramic catalyst, whose task is to burn off gases as well as other volatile compounds, reducing their emissions. The heat exchanger is characterized by high heat exchange efficiency.


The basic fuel is wood chips with the following parameters:

  • fraction (chip size) from 1-40 mm, hard deciduous trees (beech, oak) and conifers
  • pollutant content below 15% (improves combustion quality),
  • humidity below 25%,
  • minimum energy (calorific value) 15 (MJ / kg).

The alternative fuel approved by the manufacturer is pellets without crushing with the following parameters:
  • granulation about 8 mm.

As a standard, the boiler is equipped with a wireless room thermostat and an internet module that can operate wirelessly or via Ethernet. The internet module allows you to view the boiler operating parameters using a computer or smartphone. It has an exhaust fan that supports the chimney draft and at the same time facilitates the ignition process. Additionally, the set includes a chimney draft regulator.

Fuel is supplied to the burner by means of a feeding unit. The drive unit consists of a gear motor and tie rods, and tie rods driven by a gear motor. A plate is introduced into an oscillating motion by means of a geared motor, which directs the wood chips to the feeding comb, and then the wood chips are fed to the burner by the feeding piston.

How to calculate the seasonal demand for wood chips?

We assume that if we use a central heating (CO) only boiler in the heating system, we will need approx. 1 m3 of wood chips for every 10 m2 of usable area per season. If we use an additional water buffer in the CO system (as a heat accumulator), we will reduce the consumption of wood chips by approx. 30-50%.

The ALTERECO ECO-QUENTIN system allows for nearly 90% boiler efficiency by burning the gases released from the fuel. Now, instead of discharging them through a chimney, they can be burned, obtaining a lot of additional energy and clean exhaust gases comparable to those from a gas boiler.

The unique internal structure of the ECO-QUENTIN boiler allowed for the use of much more effective technologies of fuel combustion and combustion of volatile compounds, i.e. gases contained in the fuel, which are not burned in traditional boilers. The high quality of our solution has been confirmed by the Institute of Power Engineering in Łódź, which has certified our boiler in accordance with the highest currently used flue gas purity standard PN-EN 303-5: 2012 in class 5, at the same time confirming compliance with all requirements in the field of standards for ECODESIGN.

Such a solution not only increases the energy efficiency of our boilers, but, importantly, brings measurable savings during operation over many years.

The use of fuel in the form of wood chips, which is very easy to produce without the use of specialized machines and often additional harmful substances (as is the case with other wood-based fuels), gives us unlimited access, and most importantly, this fuel is one of the cheapest on the market.

The fuel feeding stability in our boiler is so great that the user does not have to sort it. The ECO-QUENTIN boiler works on a 10-40 mm fraction, but it is able to work with unsorted sawmill chips with an irregular fraction, containing even more than 100 mm pieces of wood. The ECO-QUENTIN boiler has great possibilities in terms of the fuels used, but the highest economic efficiency is achieved by using dry wood chips of deciduous trees. In this way, we will obtain the fastest return on financial outlays, using one of the cheapest fuels on the market.

The simplicity of the solution and easy access to fuel make our stove the leader on the market of the cleanest and most economical heating systems. The popularization of our solution is like returning to the sources, when wood was the most important fuel used to generate heat.
